Accessibility

I want everyone to be able to see this work, read about it and get in touch, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

What I’m aiming for

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard most widely used for websites. I’m a one-person studio, so I’d rather tell you plainly where things stand than promise perfection.

What I’ve done

In September 2026 every page was reviewed against WCAG 2.1 and 2.2, both with automated testing and by hand: using the keyboard alone, checking how pages are exposed to screen readers, and measuring the text over every photograph on the home page. The problems found on the main pages were fixed. Among other things:

• Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link.
• The photo galleries open, page through and close from the keyboard.
• The home page slideshow and the Presence Lamp video can be paused.
• Text over photographs meets contrast minimums.
• Forms are labelled, mark which fields are required, and say what’s missing.
• Images and video have text descriptions.

Where it still falls short

Puzzle Jigger and U Spy are visual design tools that run in your browser. Their main controls work from the keyboard, but drawing and arranging is easiest with a mouse or touch, and a few small details don’t yet meet every guideline. When the shop opens, checkout happens on Shopify’s own pages, which I don’t control. If either gets in your way, write to me and I’ll help you get the result another way, or take your order directly.
